Attempted robbery of two ATMs of VTB Bank (Armenia) and ACBA-CREDIT  AGRICOLE BANK registered in Yerevan on Dec 16

ArmInfo. On Dec 16, at 4:30am,  an attempt was made to break VTB Bank (Armenia)'s ATM at 56,  Baghramyan Street in Yerevan. The press office of VTB Bank (Armenia)  has told ArmInfo that the criminals insignificantly damaged the ATM  but the robbery failed.  Investigation is underway. 

A similar case occurred in Center administrative district of Yerevan  today. The Armenian Police told ArmInfo that the ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE  BANK's ATM in Saryan Street was also attacked. Having blasted the  ATM, the criminal (or criminals) stole almost 7.5 mln AMD, but did  not manage to take away the remaining 3 mln AMD. Investigation is  underway.   

To note, on the card market of Armenia, VTB Bank (Armenia) and  ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK are leaders in terms of both the number of  plastic cards and the ATM network. In October 2014, these two major  banks launched a Joint ATM Network project. The joint network makes  up one-third (over 365 ATMs) of the entire ATM network of the  republic, and it is largely represented both in Yerevan and all the  provinces of Armenia.
