ArmInfo. By the end   of 2016 the passenger flow via Yerevan Zvartnots  International Airport  will be at ultimate   record  in respect to  the number of passengers, Sergey Avetisyan, the Head of General Department of Civil Aviation, stated at the resulting press conference on December 20.

According to Avetisyan, already upon the results of QI a 15% positive dynamics of the passenger flow has been  fixed. Further, due to April events (Azerbaijani aggression at the contact line with NKR army), the decrease formed 10%. But already starting from July and until October the dynamics recovered and as of today the growth formed 30% and more. "As of today, we can state that the threshold of 2 mln passengers is passed, which is a pretty high indicator. I can confidently state that  we will get over our historical record by the end of the year," Avetisyan said, reminding that such indicators were reached by Zvartnots airport in 1990.

According to GDCA head's opinion, it is important also, that  as of today, the difference between departures and arrivals is almost zero.  "We have fixed about 1 mln departed, and the same figure for those who arrived. That  means the increase of  incoming tourism, which is very important for the country's economy development," Sergey Avetisyan stated.
