In 2016 services in Armenia grew by 7.1%

ArmInfo. In 2016, services  in Armenia grew by 7.1% to 1.2 trillion AMD ($2.6 bln) versus 2.7%  growth in 2015. In December 2016 alone, services rose by 10.9% to  120.7 bln AMD ($250 mln).

The National Statistical Service of Armenia reports that services in  education sector grew by 4.8% versus 2015, healthcare - by 1.8%, real  estate - by 5.8%, information and communication - by 0.2%, transport  - by 17.9%, administrative activities - by 2.7%, public catering - by  0.1%, and the services in the financial and insurance sector rose by  3.9%.

The services in the financial sector amounted to 246.9 bln AMD (19.5%  of the total amount), with the major part of services provided by  banks. Services in culture, entertainment and recreation totaled  236.2 bln AMD (18.7%); information and communication - 219.7 bln AMD  (17.4%); transport - 168.4 bln AMD (13.3%); public catering and  tourism - 94.4 bln AMD (7.5%).

The average AMD/USD exchange rate was 482.84 AMD/$1 in Dec 2016 and  480.49 AMD/$1 in Jan-Dec 2016, versus 482.93 AMD/$1 in Dec 2015 and  477.92 AMD/$1 in Jan-Dec 2015.
