An ore mining industrial  concept  developed in Armenia

ArmInfo. Within the purpose  of support to ore mining industry development, the sector improvement  concept is developed in Armenia. The development of the document is  implemented according to appropriate instruction of Karen Karapetyan,  the Prime Minister of the  Republic of Armenia. This is stated by the  press office of the Ministry of  Energy Infrastructures and Natural  Resources of the Republic of Armenia, with a reference to Shushanik  Kerobyan, the Head of Geology, methodology and analysis department. 

According to Kerobyan, the concept  provides the analysis of main  problems the ore mining industry faces, presents the comprehensive  policy in the sector, and gaps existing in the institutional field  and environmental  omissions. Beside that, the document sets the  solution of the problems referring to social-industrial situation,  financial issues, lack of stakeholder investors involvement, absence  of state geological researches. 

 " It is proposed to develop the strategy of ore mining sector as a  priority solution. It is expected that the stakeholder Ministries and  related entities will be also involved in the process, as well as  international donors, communities under risks and other  stakeholders," Shushanik Kerobyan Mentioned. 

To  mention, I n Jan-Dec 2016 versus the same period of 2015, mining  industry and  open pit mining increased 8.3% (versus 50.4% growth a  year before) to  256.4bln drams. In Dec alone, the mining industry  output totaled 23.6  bln drams with a 2.2% monthly growth.   Manufacturing industry  increased 7.7% y-o-y (vs 5.6% decline a year  before) to 885 bln  drams, of which 89.2 bln drams - in December with  4.9% monthly  growth.
