ArmInfo. Belarusian manufacturers can participate in agriculturan technique leasing program launched In Armenia, Armenian Agricultural Minister Ignatiy Araqelyan stated during the meeting with Belarus Republic Ambassador Igor Nazaruk on April 21 in Yerevan.
According to Armenian Minister's words told by department's press-service, the main aim of the program is rehabilitation and modernization of agricultural equipment park. "With this project we created mechanisms allowing farmers to chose for themselves what facility they need for effective implementation of agricultural works. The market is open, there are no limitations, and if Belarusian producers and suppliers are interested in Armenian market, they can participate", Ignatiy Araqelyan said.
In his turn, Belarusian Ambassador presented the Minister conditions of providing agricultural facilities in his country, Government support mechanisms to technique manufacturers.
The sides discussed the directions of possible cooperation on involving in this direction Armenian and Belarusian governmental, private and financial entities.
They also discussed forest management effective governing issue. Igor Nazaruk stressed that Belarus is interested also in mineral fertilizers supplies to Armenia. During the meeting the sides viewed also the possibilities to teach and prepare Armenian experts at Belarusian agriculture universities. Having informed about the preparations of Belargo international and agricultural exhibition in Minsk, which will take place on June 6-10 Belarusian Ambassador suggested arranging participation in it and Armenian companies.
Earlier it was reported that farmers will be able to purchase agricultural machinery in leasing at a rate of 2% per annum. Another 7% will be subsidized by the state. As a result, it is expected that in 2017 about 2.2 billion AMD will be allocated for the purchase of agricultural machinery.
According to the Financial Rating of Banks and Credit Companies of Armenia prepared by IC ArmInfo, the volume of leasing operations in 2016 increased by 11%, amounting to 16.7 billion AMD. The main supplier of leasing services is the company ACBA Leasing, in the portfolio of which the agricultural sector accounts for only 3% of the investment.
