Deputy Minister: Phenomenal rates of implementation of photovoltaic installations is registered in Armenia

ArmInfo. In Armenia, there are phenomenal rates of implementation of photovoltaic installations on the roofs of residential buildings. On April 28, Deputy Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Hayk Harutyunyan told journalists.

As for today, he noted, similar installations have already been installed on the roofs of 100 residential houses. About 30 large and small companies are involved in the development of the sphere. They have gained good experience. There is also an investment program for the construction of a plant for the production of solar panels. Today, the deputy minister continued, this sphere is in comparison with a year ago on a qualitatively new level.

In addition, are installed more than 2 thousand solar water heaters. In March 2017, the first "solar village" appeared in Armenia. We are talking about the rural community of Lernamertz, Armavir region, on the roofs of 80 houses of which solar water heaters were installed and, thus, the problems of community residents with hot water were solved. Another 20 roofs of the village installed photovoltaic installations, distributed effective LED lamps. A total of 40 million AMD were allocated for the implementation of the program.

As Hayk Harutyunyan emphasized, 12 villages in the border villages of Armenia and Karabakh are fully provided with LED lamps. The last such village was the village of Matagis in Karabakh.  Weekly, such programs are implemented in a particular village. The major participants of the program are the government, CJSC "Electric Networks of Armenia", individual entrepreneurs. "Now we are preparing for the mass usage of this program," the deputy minister stressed.

Previously, in an interview with ArmInfo, he noted that the excess of electricity produced by the sun during the day is compensated by electricity at night. Owners of solar power plants with a capacity of up to 150 kW can supply electricity to the grid without VAT, and, as a result of their supplies, receive a charge on electricity bills. In this regard, changes are made in five different laws. Owners of such stations are exempted from paying state duty for licenses, for importing equipment, the network carries out accumulation for free. As a result, the positive reaction of commercial banks and international financial institutions that agreed to start financing the sphere.
