Armenia and Iran to set joint team to deal with Armenian-Iranian relations in the sector of agriculture

ArmInfo. The Islamic Republic  of Iran is ready to cooperate with Armenia in the sector of   agriculture. This was stated by Mohammad Hodjati, the Minister of  Agriculture of Iran, during  his meeting with  Ignati Araqerlyan, the  Minsiter of Agriculture of Armenia held within the framework of his  three day visit to Armenia. According to the press office of the  Republic of Armenia Agriculture Ministry, during the meeting parties  discussed a large range of Armenian-Iranian cooperation, defined the  dimensions of further cooperation.

According to Ignati Araqelyan, therte are all real preconditions  available to make investments in agricultural processing and joint  projects implementation. " We pay a big importance to  Armenian-Iranian agricultural cooperation, and we are  open for any  suggestions, " Armenian Minister accentuated. Iranian Minister of  Agriculture briefly presented the situation in agricultural sector of  Iran and the main vectors of the sector development. " Armenia could  become a bridge between Iran and EEU  either from the points of  export and import of productions. It is necessary to set  preconditions for joint ventures, " Iranian Minister stated. 

During the meeting parties agreed to set a joint working team which  will deal with the issues of Armenian- Iranian relations improvement  in the sector of agriculture. Based on the results of the meeting,  the parties signed a memorandum on mutual understanding in respect of  plants protection.
