Working meeting was held at Armenian NPP with participation of head  of Rosatom

ArmInfo. Under the chairmanship  of the Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of  the Republic of Armenia Ashot Manukyan, a working meeting was held at  the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant on June 13, in which Alexey  Likhachev, Director General of the State Corporation Rosatom,  participated.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy  Infrastructures and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia, the  meeting discussed issues related to the implementation of measures to  extend the life of the power unit N2. The general director of the  company "Rusatom service" Yevgeny Salkov informed about the process  of implemented activities, which are carried out in accordance with  the established schedule. The issue of planned activities, which are  envisaged to be implemented within the next two years, was also  discussed.

At the end of the meeting, the Minister of Energy Infrastructures and  Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia Ashot Manukyan and the  General Director of Rosatom State Corporation Alexei Likhachev walked  around the territory of the ANPP and got acquainted with the progress  of the work.

To recall, since May 10, the Armenian NPP was stopped for 60 days in  order to carry out planned preventive works and refueling. The NPP  will be put into operation again on July 10th. Within the framework  of these works, measures will be taken to extend the life of the N2  power unit. A considerable amount of work will be carried out during  the preventive maintenance. The main focus will be on the safety of  the nuclear power plant: works will be performed related to the  repair of equipment, as well as work on instrumental inspection of  equipment. The project is coordinated by the subsidiary structure of  Rosatom State Corporation - Rusatom Service JSC, which together with  Armenian experts agreed to work on the implementation of the project  to extend the life of the nuclear power plant for 10 years - until  2026.  Completion of work is planned for 2019.
