ArmInfo. At present, in Armenia, 50-60 farms work on the cultivation of chinchillas, in which there are from 3 thousand to 3.2 thousand heads of chinchillas. On June 16, during the meeting in the Agriculture Ministry, which was held by the head of the department Ignatiy Araqelyan, chairman of the board of trustees of the Armenian Association of Chinchilla experts Narek Vardanyan said.
According to him, Armenian Agriculture Ministry press service4 informs, during next year the Assosiation intends to import 1000 heads of chinchillas. He also stressed that the most acceptable districts for breeding rodents are Shirak and Gegharkunik districts, mountain areas of Syunik district , and also some district of Kotayk district.
An issue of establishing factory of chinchilla fur factory was discussed during the meeting, the registration of farms for breeding rodents, as well as training courses and advisory services.
