EBRD approved 2 credit programs for development of SMEs and women  entrepreneurs in Armenia

ArmInfo.Recently, the EBRD  approved 2 credit programs for $ 10 million for Armenian banks to  promote small and medium-sized businesses for women entrepreneurs.  This was reported to the journalists on June 16 at the fields of the  General Meeting of Shareholders of Araratbank said acting Head of the  Armenian office of the EBRD Angela Sachs.

She said that EBRD will allocate $ 7 million for SME assistance, and  $ 3 million for the development of women entrepreneurs' business.  These directions, according to her, are priority within the country's  strategy of the bank.

To remind, EBRD is an institutional investor in Armenia. Since the  launch of the EBRD in Armenia, in particular since 1992, over 1.13  billion EUR have been invested in the implementation of 157 programs  in the financial, corporate, infrastructure, and energy sectors.  Moreover, 88% of these investments are directed to the development of  private entrepreneurship.
