ArmInfo. The purpose of the visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Communications of Iraq to Armenia is to find the verge of cooperation in the telecommunications sphere. The head of the Iraqi delegation stated this. Director General of the State Telecommunications and Infrastructure Company (ITPC) Nadim Laftah Khazhdur Al-Elayauvi on August 14 at a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies of Armenia Boris Demirkhanyan.
As reported by the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Transport, during the meeting special attention was paid to the telecommunications sphere. The Deputy Minister presented the indicators of accessibility of the Internet network in Armenia, the work of operators, and the introduction of new technologies. Nadim Laftah Khazhdur Al-Elayauvi, in turn, stressed that the purpose of his visit is to find the verge of cooperation in this area, as well as in the development of telecommunications infrastructures, with which Armenia is known.
The sides also discussed the approaches of the two countries to establish the National Information Processing Center (Data Center). The Iraqi side stated its interest in creating its national Data center, and preparatory work is already being done in this direction.
During the meeting, the experience of introducing digital broadcasting in Armenia was also presented. The guests were interested in possible cooperation in terms of sharing experience in this direction. The interlocutors touched upon the prospects of possible interaction within the framework of satellite programs.
Boris Demirkhanyan presented to the guests those areas around which discussions and meetings will be held during the three days of the stay of the Iraqi delegation in Armenia. At the suggestion of the Ministry, during the visit, meetings with representatives of universities and research institutes of Armenia, IT companies and large telecommunications operators are planned.
