A biotechnology center is being established in Armenia

ArmInfo. A biotechnology  center is being established in Armenia. This was stated during the  meeting with the Executive Director of the Development Fund of  Armenia Armen Avakyan, the head of the company Kirit  Velani.

The head of the company stressed that at present, supplies of  machinery and equipment meeting all international standards are being  implemented. Only this year about $ 1 million was invested in the  creation of the new center. Over the three years of its activity in  Armenia, the number of employees of the company reached 150 people.  At present, the company needs 20 more specialists. Thanks to the new  center, the number of employees will be increased to 250 people. The  center, according to Velani, is in the stage of industrial  development and can become the driving force of the Armenian economy.  However, as the head of the company noted, there are also  difficulties that concern high prices for the Internet, unstable  power supply and high customs payments.
