Members of the Armenian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Vahe Enfiajyan and Gevorg Gorgisyan presented to the delegates the achievements of Armenia in the sphere of high technologies at the 49th meeting of the Committee on Economic, Commercial, Technological and Environmental Issues in Tirana.
Deputies, in particular, noted that at present the development of the innovation sector in Armenia is one of the key factors of the country's economic development. "At the present stage, a modern infrastructure has been created to modernize the education system and train highly qualified specialists, where a number of general education programs are being implemented on the basis of cooperation with large technology companies. A number of training centers and laboratories such as the Armenian National Engineering Laboratory (jointly with National Instruments), Microsoft Innovation Center, Center for Innovative Technologies and Solutions IBM, technology centers in the cities of Gyumri and Vanadzor, equipped with modern innovative infrastructure," said Vahe Enfiajyan.
According to him, the main challenge is to strengthen ties between the science and education bloc and business, develop new types of institutions for financing scientific and technical activities and innovative entrepreneurship, and internationalize the scientific and technological achievements of local engineers, programmers and other professionals and companies that represent the sphere high technologies of Armenia.
