Armenia intends to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere by 20-30%

ArmInfo.Yerevan,  Tsaghkadzor, Hrazdan, Aparan, Vaik, Artik and Vanadzor will reduce  emissions of greenhouse gases by 20% by 2020. The head of the local  government department of the RA Ministry of Territorial  Administration Ashot Giloyan stated this in Minsk at the meeting of  the Mayors' Bloc.

According to him, Tashir, Kapan, Alaverdi, Parakar, Goris, Akhtala,  Masis, Gavar and Ijevan pledged to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by  30% by 2030. For these purposes, Armenia provided $ 296.3 million.

He also said that the cities of Vaik and Spitak were granted  1,687,539 EUR to increase the energy efficiency of buildings and to  use alternative energy sources.

Another $ 1.7 million was allocated for equipping Yerevan, Artik and  Aparan with energy-saving devices.
