ArmInfo. Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan discussed the implementation of the programs of the Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of Armenia in 2017, having familiarized himself with the plans of the structure for 2018.
As the press service of the RA government reports, Minister Ashot Manukyan reported to the Prime Minister on the methods of realizing the agency's goals to increase the volume of alternative, renewable energy to at least 50% in 2017, to reduce by 20% the volume of gas consumed by gas stations for gas production, by 10% of the share of nuclear energy.
Karapetyan attached importance to the continued growth of energy flows and the formation of a regional energy hub. "In reality, we have good chances in the region, and if we are flexible, the region with all its complexities is of great interest, especially with the bordering Iran, Iraq, Turkmenistan." Until 2020, one or two large regional players should represent us on this site, "the prime minister said.
