ArmInfo. In 2017, the Agricultural Development Fund launched a pilot program for the establishment of agricultural machinery stations in Armenia, the production of local fertilizers and feed. This was announced on the eve of the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Fund by its executive director Gegham Gevorgyan.
Following his wording, according to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture, this year, before the beginning of spring field work, the station will begin to operate, which will enable small and medium-sized farmers to use the newest agricultural services.
In the process is the implementation of an experimental program for the production of organic fertilizers, preliminary results were positive. Opportunities for fodder produced in farms by hydroponics are activated as well.
During the meeting, it was reported that in the second grant program "Governance and competitiveness of the resources of agricultural communities" (CARMAC) in 2017, 10 communities were completed, and in 8 work on improvement of pasture irrigation networks was continued, and 41 agricultural machinery units were provided to agricultural cooperatives.
As part of the advisory services program, 27 courses were organized in which 685 farmers participated, including farmers of agricultural cooperatives, 220 program seminars with the participation of 5,562 individuals and legal entities.
The Board of Trustees approved the Fund's activities in 2017, having also approved the Fund's budget for 2018 and the staff units.
