ArmInfo. On March 20, Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received a delegation headed by the head of the Yerevan Office of the World Bank (WB) Sylvie Bossoutrot. As the press service of the Armenian government reports, Mrs. Bossoutrot presented the framework of Armenia-WB cooperation for 2018-2022 and the proposed agenda of reforms based on the government's program for the future 5-year anniversary.
In particular, Sylvie Bossoutrot noted WB readiness to continue effective cooperation with the Armenian government in a number of areas, including in the sphere of state administration, improving infrastructure, stimulating exports, developing human capital, creating a stable environment and managing natural resources.
The head of the Armenian WB Office stressed the importance of the reforms being implemented, noting the successful course of the constitutional reforms and the completion of the process of transition to a parliamentary form of government, the signing of a framework agreement with the EU, and the recorded high rates of economic growth.
Karen Karapetyan noted the importance of deepening and expanding bilateral cooperation with the World Bank. The prime minister greeted the presented draft and the proposals of the World Bank, proposing to continue discussions around the document with various state structures.
Expressing gratitude to the World Bank for the assistance in carrying out reforms in the field of water resources management, the head of the Armenian government expressed readiness of the executive power to continue transformations in this direction. At the same time, the Prime Minister informed that in the sphere of agriculture programs aimed at increasing the profitability of the agricultural sector, discipline in the sphere and reducing costs started.
During the meeting, the parties also touched upon the issues of the bilateral agenda of Armenia and the World Bank.
