ArmInfo. Armenia's IT sector for the year 2017 increased volumes by 29.6% to 76 billion AMD ($ 157.4 million). The Minister of Transport, Communications and IT Vahan Martirosyan told during the working meeting with RA President Serzh Sargsyan.
As the RA presidential press office reports, V. Martirosyan said that in 2017 570 companies were created, out of which 281 were issued certificates of tax benefits.
Speaking about the measures aimed at attracting foreign investments and presenting Armenian IT products in the international market, the minister noted that 7 offices have already been opened abroad.
Returning to the issue of cybersecurity, V. Martirosyan said that the National Security Council approved the concept, and currently the Ministry is working with an interdepartmental group on the development of a cybersecurity strategy, which also includes the issue of the establishment of the Cybersecurity Center in Armenia.
During the meeting, the Minister also reported to the President on the approval and start of the implementation of the strategy for the development of the ICT sector in 2018-2030, on the proper organization of work on the World Conference of IT in 2019.
