ArmInfo.Vice Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan received a delegation from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, under the supervision of Francis Malizh, EBRD managing director in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus, and chief economist Sergei Gurin, who arrived in Yerevan on a two-day visit. This was reported by the press service of the Armenian government.
Grigoryan noted that cooperation with EBRD is extremely important for Armenia, since it is not only a partnership in the financial sector, but also a guarantee of the formation of a proper business culture and a factor of absolutely positive impact on human capital. According to him, the development of a healthy economy and the formation of a proper culture to combat corruption also means the development of relations with the right partners. Grigoryan confirmed the government's commitment to deepening and expanding cooperation with the EBRD.
In turn, the chief economist of Eurobank Sergey Gurin, having agreed with the opinion of the vice-premier on the importance of the partnership between the EBRD and Armenia, expressed the hope that it will be continued. Representatives of the European Bank assured that, using their experience in other countries, they are ready to support the process of reforms in Armenia, especially in terms of improving the investment environment. They believe that the EBRD pays much attention to those reforms that are aimed at improving the country's economy, i.e. to ensure transparency and promote transparent market relations.
The parties discussed possibilities of economic development of Armenia, new priorities and reforms of the Government, referred to the potential development in the sphere of tourism, power energy and agriculture.
