ArmInfo. The manufacturer of the unique medical product - Nairi, represented by the Armbiotechnology Research and Production Center under the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) of Armenia, needs state assistance in order to continue production, which, without state support, may soon be discontinued.
In a frank conversation with the correspondent of ArmInfo, SPC employees noted that being a non-market and non-private structure they have to compete with various other manufacturers , which not really able to produce technologically therapeutic product, thereby misleading consumers.
According to the staff of the NPC, at present the Center is the legal successor of the Institute of Microbiology of the City of Abovyan, in which the Narine strain of the famous Narine biologist Levon Yerznkyan was discovered in the middle of the last century. The SPC includes the former Institute of Biotechnology, the Institute of Microbiology and the Center for Depositing Microorganisms. Qualified employees of the Institute to this day produce in accordance with all technological standards, on modern equipment, on the basis of a constantly maintained strain of the indicated bacteria.
According to the testimony of NPC employees, due to the lack of ownership of Armenian science during the collapse of the USSR, the Narine strain was acquired by private individuals for purely commercial purposes, as a result of which today there are several companies producing a lactic acid product with this name. However, produced with microbiological supervision, incommensurably smaller, as compared with that carried out at the Center for Depositing Microorganisms, the product of private producers does not match the consistency, chemical composition, microbiological purity and other important properties. At the Scientific-Production Center (SPC) is produced under conditions of round- the-clock monitoring of the purity and state of activity of the bacteria culture, and from natural cow's milk without any impurities or preservatives, as a result of which the storage period of is only 5 days In addition, on the basis of the same strain, a method for producing fruit versions of "Narine" was developed, based on environmentally friendly, genetically unmodified and not fed by artificial toxic chemicals, fruits growing on the territory of the institute. They are classic and drinkable yogurts. The latter are not inferior in their organoleptic and medical indices to the classical "Narine" and, moreover, solve the problem of the unsuitability of dairy products by people with intolerance to taste and smell of milk (and there are not a few of them).
According to the staff of NPC, the use of "Narine" after a course of antibiotic therapy is particularly effective. This product is low-calorie, can be used at any time of the day before and after meals, at any age, in a healthy state and in the postoperative recovery period, for which reason it does not pose a threat to persons suffering from obesity or dysfunctions assimilating cholesterol, as well as all forms diabetes. improves the activity and restores the intestinal microflora, and therefore is effective against dysbiosis and its effects, reduces excess acidity of the stomach, improves immunity, and also accelerates wound healing when used externally.
The staff of the Center proposes Yerevan City Hall to introduce NPC NAN RA production centers into the diet of baby food used in kindergartens, schools and other educational institutions, as well as in hospitals and other medical institutions as a general strengthening, enhancing immunity and treatment-and-prophylactic probiotic product of easy digestibility, contributing to the normalization of the processes of digestion and accelerating the process of post-operative recovery, especially during abdominal operations.
In fairness, we note that "Narine", being a Soviet invention, was entered into the Drug Register of the Russian Federation as far back as the late 90s. The description of the drug says that "NARINE" is a female name entered by L.Ђ. Yerzinkian for the name of his invention "Bacterial strain Lactobacillus helveticus", which eventually became available on the market of dairy products and dietary supplements as a common name. The registration of as a trademark, in the opinion of Russian experts, is actually aimed at acquiring advantages in business and at the same time contradicts the requirements of integrity, rationality, fairness and is the subject of unfair competition.
