ArmInfo. In Armenia, technical re-equipment of industries increased over 10 months of 2018 by 62% per annum, Acting Minister of Economic Development and Investments T. Khachatryan stated at a press conference on November 23.
"This is a very important indicator that should be given due attention in the context of the long-term competitiveness of the economy," he stressed.
According to the Acting Minister, in case this trend is maintained, in 2019 re-equipped private sector will operate in Armenia, which will have a positive effect on the level of productivity.
He recalled that according to the World Bank's estimate, in 2017, the productivity (GDP) per employee in Armenia is $ 5.1 per hour, while in the EU countries this figure is 12-17-fold higher than in Armenia. In this regard, T. Khachatryan stressed that further steps of the government will be aimed at increasing productivity.
