ArmInfo. In the private sector, there are very few organizations that apply the principles of corporate governance, which is a modern technology that helps protect the interests of businesses, shareholders, employees and partners.
On November 27, Acting Minister of Economic Development and Investments Tigran Khachatryan expressed such opinion on the margins of the second annual forum on management and leadership, which is being held in Armenia with the support of the British Embassy.
The Acting Minister stressed that due to the fact that the level of corporate governance is not high, it is difficult to take advantage of the opportunities provided and apply them to achieve the goals. In the future, according to T. Khachatryan, special attention should be paid to corporate governance, stressing that the role of the state is to ensure that the private sector goes in this direction.
"Today, there is a need for our managers to assess existing opportunities, to own modern management technologies, which will allow them to be more competitive, efficient, contribute to the successful implementation of the programs that we implement and be ready for all challenges, including economic ones", he said.
The use of modern technologies in management, which are used today in the UK, according to T. Khachatryan, will help increase the interest of British business, in particular from the point of view of investing in the Armenian economy. "It is necessary to constantly be in dialogue and use the opportunities that the British government offers us in terms of obtaining the necessary innovative knowledge and skills in the field of modern economic management. We are grateful and should take advantage of the opportunities provided", the Acting Minister of Economic Development and Investments emphasized.
At the same time, he stressed that in the management process, both in the public and private sectors, self- criticism is extremely important, especially considering today's economic realities, when expectations and levels of responsibility towards managers are very high.
During her speech, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Great Britain in Armenia Judith Margaret Farnworth stressed that assistance in holding such an event is due to the presence of talents in the creative sector of Armenia who need protection and export.
"Today it is necessary to focus on creating an environment conducive to economic development. The UK has talents who can share their experience with Armenian specialists, " the Ambassador said. She noted that leadership skills will allow to have a successful business from an international point of view.
