ArmInfo. Armenia and Poland will develop a new agenda for economic cooperation. This became known during the meeting of the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan with the Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Moravetsky in Davos.According to the press service of the government, the parties came to an agreement to charge the ministers of economy of Armenia and Poland to develop a new agenda of economic cooperation.
During the meeting, the heads of the Armenian and Polish governments attached importance to development and expansion of multilateral cooperation, emphasizing the need to deepen trade and economic ties. At the same time, the sides stressed the need to give new impetus to the work of the Armenian-Polish intergovernmental commission.Pashinyan and Moravetsky discussed cooperation issues, which is at different levels, in particular, within the framework of the Comprehensive and Expanded Armenia-EU Cooperation (CEPA). Pashinyan informed that complex reforms are being carried out in Armenia in various fields, the effective implementation of which will be supported by the programs envisaged by CEPA.
In this vein, the Armenian prime minister stressed the importance of ratification of the agreement by the EU states in a short time.Mateusz Moravetsky welcomed the processes of democratic development in Armenia, noting that Poland, for its part, will do everything possible to ratify the agreement and will contribute to the reform process. At the same time, the head of the Polish government added that he was impressed by the recent events in Armenia.
At the end of the meeting, Moravetsky invited Pashinyan to Poland for a more detailed discussion of the bilateral agenda of the relationship.According to the RA Statistical Committee, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Poland in January-November 2018 amounted to $ 47.4 million, which is 9.4% lower than a year ago. At the same time, exports increased by 2.2% to $ 7.8 million, while imports fell by 11.4% to $ 39.6 million.
