ArmInfo. Nominal wages in Armenia accelerated growth rates - up to 3.8% in January-December 2018 from 2.9% in January-December 2017, reaching 172357 drams ($ 357). In December alone, nominal wages increased by 23.4%, against a 25.2% increase in December 2017.
In December 2018 compared with December 2017, nominal wages increased by 2%, against a growth of 2.6% in December 2017 by December 2016. According to preliminary data of the RA Statistics Committee, wages in the public sector in January- December 2018 amounted to 147362 drams ($ 305), with a slight acceleration of y-o-y growth from 0.5% to 1.6%. The meager acceleration of growth was also observed in wages in the private sector, but at the same time, the rates were higher - from last year's 3.6% to the reported 4%, amounting to 186,719 drams ($ 387). Only in December 2018, wages in the public sector increased by 22.7%, and in the private sector by 23.7%, which almost repeats the upward trend a year ago: 27.2% in the public sector and 23.5% in the private sector. The average settlement rate of dram in December 2018 was 484.67 AMD / $ 1, and in January-December - 482.99 AMD / $ 1, against 483.18 AMD / $ 1 in December 2017 and 482.72 AMD/ $ 1 - in January- December 2017.
