ArmInfo.Metallurgical industry of Armenia in January-July 2020 accelerated y-o-y growth from 1.2% to 13.2%.
According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in January-July production of ferromolybdenum in Armenia increased by 7.9% per annum, amounting to 4,461 tons, against growth by 15.7% a year earlier. In July alone, 672 tons of ferromolybdenum were produced with a monthly decline of 6.4%.
In January-July of this year, compared to the same period last year, the production of molybdenum concentrate increased 1.8-fold - up to 14 697 tons, against an increase of 28.9% a year earlier. At the same time, in July production of molybdenum concentrate decreased by 2.2% - to 2,293 tons.
Copper concentrate production increased in January-July by 9.1% per annum - up to 214 thousand tons, against an increase of 0.9% a year earlier. On a monthly basis (in July), copper concentrate production decreased by 18.6% to 25.6 thousand tons.
Zinc concentrate production increased over the reporting period by 31.3% per annum - to 8,323 tons, against an 8.4% decline a year earlier. In July, production of zinc concentrate increased by 36.3% - up to 1,381 tons.
Production of aluminum foil for the reporting period increased by 13.1% per annum - up to 20,505 tons, against a 3.5% decline a year earlier. At the same time, in July, the production of aluminum foil increased by 4.7% - up to 3,062 tons.
The production of steel pipes in the reporting period increased by 36.1% per annum - to 7,772 tons (against a 1.9% decline in the previous year), while in July production decreased by 10.6% - to 1,381 tons. Alloy (carbon) steel castings were produced in January-July in the amount of 8488.2 tons, with a y-o-y growth of 18.7%. At the same time, in July production volumes decreased by 37.2%, amounting to 574.2 tons.
To note, all the metals produced in Armenia are exported, mainly to Europe and the USA.
