ArmInfo. Finally we will have a primordially Armenian national telecom operator, owned by the citizens of Armenia are speaking. Co-founder of the new  lecommunications company Team Telecom, one of the owners of VEON  Armenia Hayk Yesayan stated this at a press conference on December 3.

He said that the deal to acquire 100% of VEON Armenia shares was  finally completed on October 29 this year. In this regard, Yesayan  said that VEON Armenia was renamed into Telecom Armenia. "It is  extremely important that we are an Armenian company, because now the  company's profits will remain in the country," Yesayan stressed,  noting that over the past 10 years, the profit and dividends  generated in VEON Armenia were sent to the VEON group. From now on,  in his words, the financial resources will remain in Armenia and will  be directed to the development of new directions of the completely  new strategy of the Team Telecom company. Having opened the brackets  somewhat, the Yesayan brothers said that according to the new  strategy, Team Telecom intends to create small IT companies that will  develop new areas of information technology.

With regard to the telecommunications component, the owners of  Telecom Armenia reported that in 2021 the quality of the services  provided will significantly change. "I believe that within the next  2-3 years we will become one of the leading providers of the  Internet," they stressed. According to the co-founder of Team  Telecom, active work is already underway with the new team, and soon  new solutions and directions will be announced. In this regard, he  pointed to the transit services that the company already provides to  the Iraqi market. "This is the strategic direction that is important  both for the company and for the state," Yesayan said.

In particular, the Yesayan brothers also reported that after 3 months  a new optical network will be built in Yerevan. , - said Yesayan, noting that this technology is flexible enough  and allows if necessary, make changes, re-equip the network, increase  the speed of the Internet, etc.

It was also announced that within 3-5 years the company, according to  the investment plan, intends to invest $ 40-60 million in the  construction of a new network. "On average, telecommunications  companies in Armenia invest about $ 10-20 million annually, and we  intend to follow this plan," Yesayan said.  He said that according to  the agreement, the Beeline brand will operate for some time.  Rebranding, according to the owners, will take place next year. "The  marketing team is now working on this, but we cannot yet talk about  the exact dates," Hayk Yesayan emphasized.

During the press conference, the VEON owners also said that the deal  to acquire 100% of the shares was financed by Ameriabank. Now, within  the framework of the second stage of financing, according to them,  Ardshinbank has also joined. "In fact, we are considering the  possibility of attracting additional funds from other financial  organizations, which is necessary for us today in terms of reducing  interest rates and for making new investments," said Alexander  Yesayan.
