ArmInfo. Daniel Azatyan was elected as the new chairman of the Union of Banks of Armenia (UBA) for a term of 3 years. This is noted in the UBA message, which states that he assumed this position on November 15.
Previously, according to the UBA charter, bank CEOs were elected as chairmen on a rotation basis. However, after the charter was changed, this principle became optional.
The newly elected chairman of the UBA, Daniel Azatyan, has 25 years of experience in the financial and banking system (since 1999). He held senior positions in the Central Bank of Armenia, was the director of insurance supervision, the head of the financial monitoring center, and the head of the financial supervision and licensing department. Azatyan held the position of head of internal audit at Ardshinbank. He served as executive director of Fast Bank, which received a bank license in November 2022. Azatyan is the founding director of the ABpartners consulting company.
