ArmInfo. Armenia's Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan hosted Ambassador of Finland to Amenia Kirsti Narinen and Finland's Honorary Consul in Armenia Timothy Straight.
The parties discussed the possibilities of establishing business relations between Armenia and the countries of the Nordic-Baltic Eight (Denmark, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Estonia). Then the interlocutors touched upon the "Crossroads of Peace" project developed by the government, the project for the construction of the "Dry Port" industrial park, as well as the implementation of programs for the integration of forcibly displaced Artsakh Armenians.
Briefing the guests on the current economic situation in the country, Kerobyan said that based on the results of 9 months of this year. Armenia's GDP growth amounted to 9.2%. The minister noted that he noted that the goal of the Armenian government is to diversify the economy in all areas, including the mining, energy and telecommunications sectors.
In the first half of the year, the customs value of goods exported from Armenia to Finland increased 2.4 times year-on-year to $156.6 thousand. At the same time, a similar increase was registered in the customs value of imported goods - up to $24.4mln.
