Armenia`s real economy "loses" positions to non-export industries -  expert

ArmInfo.The results of 2023 indicate that the real (export) economy has "lost" its position to non-export industries, which are experiencing a temporary boom under the influence of exogenous factors, Former head of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia Davit Ananyan wrote on his Facebook account, commenting on the "List of the 1000 largest taxpayers of the Republic of Armenia" recently published by the tax authority.

ArmInfo.For the second year in a row, the Zangezur Copper- Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC) tops the  list of the largest taxpayers in Armenia. According to data from the State Revenue Committee, the company sent 70.8 billion drams to the state treasury in 2023 (with an y- o-y decline of 50.8%), of which 5.2 billion drams were for customs duties, 27.1 billion. drams - for direct taxes (including profit tax, income tax), 5.6 billion drams -  for indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax).

There is practically no policy aimed at developing high value-added industries in Armenia.  This, in fact, is evidenced by the data of both the RA Statistical  Committee and the list of the largest domestic taxpayers. Doctor of  Economic Sciences, Professor Ashot Tavadyan expressed a similar point  of view in an interview with ArmInfo.

Gazprom Armenia regains its leadership in Armenia`s large taxpayers  list

ArmInfo.According to the results of Q1 2023, the list of 1000 large taxpayers of Armenia was  headed by Gazprom Armenia, which paid 20.9 billion drams to the state  budget (with a y-o-y growth of 4%), of which 23.6 million drams are  customs duties, 1. 6 billion drams - direct taxes (incl. profit tax,  income tax), 18.9 billion drams - indirect taxes (incl. VAT, excise  tax).  A year earlier, for the same period, Gazprom Armenia CJSC  occupied the 2nd place. This is evidenced by the published data of  the RA State Revenue Committee.

Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine leads among major taxpayers in  Armenia

ArmInfo. Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine CJSC (ZCMC) retained its leadership in the list of 1000 largest taxpayers of Armenia in January-September 2022.   This is evidenced by the data of the State Revenue Committee,  according to which during the reporting period the company sent to  the state treasury a total of 129.2 billion drams in taxes ($318.4  million, with a 3-fold y-o-y increase), of which 1.4 billion was paid  for customs duties, 39.2 billion drams - for direct taxes (including  income tax, profit tax), 2.4 billion - for VAT, and 87.5 billion  drams - for other taxes and payments.

ArmInfo. The five leaders of the list of 1000 large taxpayers of Armenia paid a total of 177.5 billion drams to the budget through taxes, which is 67% higher than a  year ago. According to the data of the State Revenue Committee, of  this amount, 45.8 billion accounted for direct taxes (including  income tax, profits tax), with a y-o-y increase of 4%, and 54 billion  - for indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax), with a y-o-y  increase of 37%.

ArmInfo.According to the results of Q1 2022, the list of 1000 large taxpayers in Armenia was headed by the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC), which paid 35.4 billion drams to the state treasury (with a 3.6-fold y-o-y  growth), of which 402.7 million drams - on customs duties, 13.4  billion drams - on direct taxes (including profit tax, income tax),  594.1 million drams - on VAT. A year earlier, ZCMC held the 3rd  place. This is evidenced by the published data of the RA State  Revenue Committee.
