ArmInfo. Azerbaijan launched a hybrid war against Armenia. Chairman of the Union of  Miners and Metallurgists of the Republic of Armenia, First Deputy General Director of Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine CJSC Vardan Jhanyan stated  on July 24 at a press conference.

ArmInfo. Armenia is actively negotiating with China on the construction of a copper  smelting complex in the republic. This was announced on February 24  at a meeting of the RA National Assembly Commission on Regional and  Eurasian Integration by Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC)  of the Republic of Armenia David Ananyan, who presented a draft  agreement on the exchange of information on goods and vehicles of  international transportation moving across the customs borders of the  Eurasian Economic Union ( EAEU) and the People's Republic of China  (PRC).

ArmInfo. At the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia with the participation of Government structures and mining  companies held discussions on the processes of organizing the mining  industry, the prospects for the construction of a copper smelter.

ArmInfo.  The issue of building  a new copper smelting complex in Armenia is on the agenda of the RA  government. This was stated by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran  Avinyan on November 20 in an interview with reporters.

ArmInfo.Workers of the Alaverdi Copper Smelter blocked the interstate railway Yerevan-Tbilisi from 10:00. They are protesting against the termination of employment  relationships with 200 employees of the company.

After restarting the processing plant Teghout and entering the planned production volumes, the company plans to increase the staff to 1,000 people, and therefore now actively selects specialists with relevant professional education, qualifications and experience. This is stated in the official communication of the company.

ArmInfo. There is real progress lin the issue of resuming the work of the Teghout field. On March 28, answering the question of the RA National Assembly MP from  the Prosperous Armenia faction Artur Grigoryan (in the recent past,  he headed the Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural  Resources of the RA - ed. note), said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.   According to him, the company's management (Vallex Group, which  develops the field - ed. note) is already returning people to jobs.  Nikol Pashinyan expressed hope that within the next 1-1.5 months the  enterprise will resume work.

ArmInfo.There is every reason to assert that Teghout field will be activated soon. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said this on  March 27 in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.

Vallex Group of Companies recognizes as invalid the notifications previously  submitted to employees of Armenian Copper Programme" CJSC (ACP),  which owns the Alaverdi Copper Plant that was shut down at the end of  last year, about the breakdown of labor relations since February 28,  2019.

ArmInfo.The Government of Armenia is interested in the speedy resolution of the problem of the Alaverdi Copper Smelting Plant and the restoration of production. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan at a meeting with  employees of the company, who recently spoke with another protest  demanding to provide them with jobs.

ArmInfo.Residents of Alaverdi city blocked the Yerevan-Tbilisi Interstate Railway from 10:00am. They are protesting against the closure of the Alaverdi Copper  Smelter and are demanding that the enterprise's work be restored.

ArmInfo. Armenian Minister of  Economic Development and Investments Tigran Khachatryan expressed the  possibility of restarting the Teghut deposit. He stated this on  January 31 in an interview with journalists.

ArmInfo. The Teghout mining complex is a modern high-tech enterprise, which has already played a significant role in the economic development of the region and has great potential to play this role in the future. This is stated in the statement of the Vallex Group of Companies operating the Teghout field.

Following the  negotiations between the Government of Armenia and Armenian Copper  Program CJSC (ACP), it was decided to postpone the transfer of  notices of termination of employment contracts to employees of the  Alaverdi Copper Smelter for two months - until February 28, 2019,  Assistant Prime Minister of Armenia Aren Mkrtchyan informed on his  Facebook page.
