Ameriabank extending network of ATMs
ArmInfo.Ameriabank keeps on fostering cooperation with corporate clients as part of salary projects and extending the network of ATMs.
Ameriabank press-service told ArmInfo the bank serves 35 ATMs, including 36 in Yerevan, 2 in NKR and 7 in the regions of Armenia. In early 2009 Ameriabank served 20 ATMS (including 17 in Yerevan, 3 in the regions), whereas in early 2008 it has just 2 ATMs. In February 2010 Ameriabank opened an ATM in the town of Dilijan where it has officially registered a new branch to be opened in March.
Total operations via ATMs of Ameriabank in the equivalent of the Armenian dram grew 3.1 times in 2009 versus 2008. Operations through Ameriabank's plastic cards grew 2.6 times and through the cards of other local banks - 3.8 times. Operations through the cards of foreign banks were up 10 times in the period under review. The number of operations through the bank's ATMs grew 3.4 times in 2009 and the number of transactions with Ameriabank plastic cards grew 2.9 times, with the cards of other local banks - 3.5 times and with the cards of foreign banks - 11 times.
Ameriabank issued 67% more plastic cards in 2009 versus 2008. In 2010 the bank is expected to increase the number of ATMs and extend their geographic location.
By data of the Armenian Card, as of February 1 2010 ArCa member-banks issued 456594 cards with 30% annual growth. As of February 1 2010 the number of active plastic cards ArCa totaled 283050 (38% annual growth), Visa - 112280 cards (10% annual growth), MasterCard - 61264 (35% annual growth). Operations through 313375 plastic cards were made for January 2010, including 204818 operations through ArCa cards, 40452 operations on MasterCard and 68015 on Visa cards. As of Feb 1 2010 588 ATMs served ArCa plastic cards versus 465 in the same period of 2009.
