Ameriabank and ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank share leading positions according to results of analysis of banks' positions
ArmInfo. Ameriabank and ACBA Credit Agricole Bank have shared the leading positions according to the results of analysis of banks. The Analysis of the Armenian Banking System held by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo), has shown that according to the result of 2010 the first position that is to belong to the actively operating in all directions, the so-called universal bank is still vacant. The second position has also been vacant since Q4 2009. The third position, which was vacant in Q2 2010, was occupied by Ameriabank in Q3 2010, and Ameriabank shared this position with ACBA Credit Agricole Bank in Q4 2010.
Ameriabank has annually risen by three positions. ACBA Credit Agricole Bank ensured considerable improvement of one of the indices and maintained the leading figures in the rest of indices, restored its position and made its competitor squeeze up.
To note, since Q2 2009 the given analysis of the banking system has been including the positions on loro and nostro accounts, loans of individuals, call liabilities, time deposits, attracted and placed interbank deposits and credits, alongside with positions on the total capital, assets, total provision of crediting, loans for economy, investments in securities, liabilities, attracted funds, undistributed profit over the period under review (the given ranking includes the profit for 2010), which were taken into account earlier.
This quantitative analysis reflects the rate of the banks' activity in all segments but not the quality of their work. So, it cannot be a criteria for investment-related decisions.
As compared with 2009 six banks worsened their positions, six banks improved their rating, while the positions of nine banks remained unchanged.
HSBC Bank Armenia rose from the 5th to the 4th position, while VTB Bank Armenia and Ardshininvestbank shared the 5th position.
Unibank is the 6th, Armbusinessbank - the 7th, Converse Bank - the 8th. The 9th position is vacant. ARARATBANK, Areximbank-Gazprombank Group and INECO share the 10th position.
Artsakhbank is the 11th, Anelik Bank and Armeconombank - the 12th. The 13th position is, thank God, vacant. Mellatbank is the 14th, Armswissbank - the 15th, Byblos Bank Armenia - the 16th, the Armenian Development Bank and Prometey Bank - the 17th. The 18th position is vacant. ProCredit Bank is the 19th, BTA Bank - the 20th.
