USD loans provided by Armenian banks weekly grow twice and AMD loans - by 40.4%
ArmInfo. Last week (26 September-2 October) Armenian banks provided loans worth 33.7 bln AMD (40.4% weekly growth) and $56 mln (over twofold weekly growth), the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over the current week (3-7 October) the banks bought $73.5 mln at the average exchange rate of 373.75 AMD/$1, and sold $88.8 mln at the average exchange rate of 375.44 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients).
Currency purchase and sale operations worth $7.850 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 375 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 3 to 7 October.
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $10.350 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 376.22 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 3 October ($6.4 mln) and the smallest volume was on October 6 ($700 thsd).
To note, as of 1 July 2011, the summary provision of crediting of the Armenian banking system amounted to 1.2 trillion AMD, or $3.2 bln, having increased by 17.8% since earlier 2011, by 9% over Q2 2011 (40.6% y-o-y growth).
