Garegin Tosunyan: Banking pleases not only our own selves but also God


ArmInfo. President of the Association of Russian Banks Garegin Tosunyan thinks that banking pleases God. "Though we, bankers, are greedy people and in most cases we make decisions in our favor, nevertheless, banking pleases not only our own selves but also God", said Tosunyan at the fourth annual conference of the Office of the Financial System Mediator of Armenia in Yerevan on Wednesday.

He thinks that the insufficient financial awareness of the population and the legislative rawness of the financial institutions should not justify the situations when the banking system representatives fail to take into account the human-factor aspect.

"Whatever our legal system is, whatever ways our financial organizations may have to turn their disputes with customers to own advantage, each of us must remain a human being and must keep in mind the principle of justice. Even if legally right in such disputes, financial organizations must give priority to justice, even if it tells them to concede," Tosunyan said, adding that the very fact that Armenia has a financial system mediator proves that the country is becoming highly cultured and civilized.

The 4th annual conference on the role of the financial system mediator in improving public confidence and promoting financial mediation is being held in Yerevan Oct 2-3.
