World Bank's investments in construction of Armenia down 62.7% over year
ArmInfo. The World Bank's investments in construction of Armenia were down 62.7% over year.
The National Statistical Service of Armenia reports that in Feb 2014 the WB lent 81.6 mln AMD ($198.3 thsd) to the capital construction sector (32.3% of total international lending to construction of Armenia). The total international lending amounted to 252.3 mln AMD ($613 thsd), 80% less than in Feb 2013.
In Jan-Feb 2014, total capital investments in Armenia amounted to 18.5 bln AMD ($45.4 mln), 1.2% more than in Jan-Feb 2013. In Feb alone capital investments in construction totaled 11.4 bln AMD ($27.6 mln), 2.3% more than in Feb 2013. In Jan-Feb 2014 the WB lent 163.4 mln AMD ($399 thsd) to the capital construction sector of Armenia (29.1% of total international lending). The total international lending to the sector amounted to 561.4 mln AMD ($1.3 mln) in Jan-Feb 2014.
In Jan-Feb 2014, the state budget of Armenia invested 2.1 bln AMD ($5.2 mln) in capital construction, organizations - 10.6 bln AMD ($25.9 mln), population - 5.1 bln AMD ($12.6 mln). The Asian Development Bank lent 16.3 mln AMD to the sector, the EBRD - 169.7 mln AMD ($414.4 thsd), KfW - 2.8 mln AMD, Hayastan All-Armenian Fund - 38 mln AMD. In Jan-Feb 2014, developer companies invested 4.2 bln AMD ($10.2 mln), transport sector - 2.1 bln AMD ($5.2 mln), electric power and gas supply sector - 1.5 bln AMD ($3.8 mln), education - 678.2 mln AMD ($1.6 mln), mining industry - 1.9 bln AMD ($4.7 mln), financial sector lent 142 mln AMD ($346.8 thsd) to construction, processing industry spent 2.9 bln AMD ($7.1 mln), water supply sector - 693.2 mln AMD, public catering - 264.1 mln AMD, information and communication - 1.3 bln AMD ($3.1 mln), wholesale and retail trade - 1.1 bln AMD, culture - 73.9 mln AMD, agriculture - 448.5 bln AMD, health sector - 155 mln (0.8%).
In Jan-Feb 2014 the average market exchange rate was 409.45 AMD/$1, and in Feb alone - 411.54 AMD/$1.
