The volume of VTB Bank (Armenia) "VISA VTB Cosmopolitan" non-cash operations has increased by more than 40%, while the number of cards increased by more than 20%,
It was announced on July 3, in the course of a draw conducted by VTB Bank (Armenia), Visa International Payment System, and Cosmopolitan Armenia Magazine as part of a joint campaign. The draw involved all the VTB Cosmopolitan Visa Gold cardholders.
The offer was in force in the period of Mar 1-May 31, 2015. All those customers who made card payments when purchasing goods in Armenia, abroad or online in the amount of more than 100 thsd AMD could take part in a prize drawing.
As a result, 100 most active cardholders participated in the prize drawing of 15 gift certificates from female stores and specialized centers.
Two VTB Bank (Armenia) clients Azatuhi Manvelyan and Laura Hovhannisyan won the two main prizes - 2 tickets to Milan.
According to the Analytical Review "Armenian Banks in Card Business" by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo), VTB Bank (Armenia) retains leadership in terms of active cards. As of 1 April 2015, the number of its active cards totaled more than 401 thsd (24% y-o-y growth), including almost 385 thsd Visa cards (including over 88 thsd pension cards). The Bank became a member of MasterCard almost 2 years ago and issued over 16 thsd MasterCards by April 2015, joining the top ten. The Bank was in the lead by the amount of plastic transactions - over 186 bln AMD over 2014 (33% y-o-y growth). As of 1 April 2015, the Bank had 298 POS-terminals and 157 ATMs. Before 2013 the Bank issued and served Visa international cards. In September 2013, it became a principal member of MasterCard and started issuing and serving Cirrus/Maestro, MasterCard Standard and MasterCard Gold cards. Along with it, the Bank serves ArCa local cards and has its own processing center.
To recall, VTB Bank (Armenia) is owned fully by Russian VTB Bank. It runs 67 branches across Armenia, more than any other local bank. The bank is traditionally on the list of the banking system leaders of Armenia by its key indices.
