ArmInfo. Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan received a delegation of the Swedish DeLaval Company led by Oleg Pavlov, the Director of the Company for South Caucasus and Moldova, on February 9.
According to the Agriculture Ministry of Armenia, Director of the Center for Agribusiness and Rural Development (CARD) Gagik Sargsyan was present at the meeting to discuss the five-year project of daily cattle breeding strategy in Armenia. DeLaval is one the world's largest companies offering technological solutions in the field of milk production and has a rich experience in developing such strategies.
Addressing the guests, Sergo Karapetyan said the strategy looks to increase the milk quality and milk producing ability, through development of infrastructures and removal of the factors impeding the development of the sector. The strategy will be developed in cooperation with CARD in April-May 2016.
A member of the delegation, expert in development of global project of DeLaval Stefan Bergstand said the strategies developed with the support of his company are successfully implemented in many countries.
The Armenian minister stressed the need to study the peculiarities of the cattle-breeding sector in Armenia to take them into account when developing the strategy. DeLaval is a leading producer of dairy and farming machine, with a head office in Tumba, Sweden, and is part of the Tetra Laval group. In 1991 the division of Alfa Laval, which produced dairy and farming machinery, was bought by the Tetra Pak Group and renamed DeLaval after the company's founder. Alfa Laval continued with specialized products and solutions for heavy industry.
