ArmInfo. Deflation in the non-food market of Armenia totaled 0.6% in February 2016. As compared to February 2015, deflation totaled 0.1% and 1.1% for Jan-Feb (0.8% year- on-year inflation).
The prices of non-foods fell 0.6% in Feb, as prices of clothing and knitted items fell 2.8%, cosmetics - 1.3%, shoes - 1.1%, fuel - 1%, office supplies - 0.9%, detergents and medicine - 0.4%. Prices of horticultural supplies increased by 0.3%, textile - 0.4%, pieces of art - 0.6%, jewelry items - .0.6%, carpets - 0.7%, hygiene supplies - 1.1%, furniture - 1.1%, household equipment - 1.8%, while the prices of kitchen devices and construction materials were left unchanged. According to the statistics, in February, petrol and diesel prices fell 2.7% and 3.7%, respectively. These products fell in price 1.16% and 14.4% year on year, and 7.3% and 9.5% for Jan-Feb, respectively. Prices of non-foods fell 0.7% in Feb in Yerevan.
A 1.4% deflation was registered in the consumer market of Armenia in February 2016 (1.7% versus Feb 2015). In Jan- Feb , inflation totaled 0.8% (1,1% deflation versus the same period of 2015).
