From now on the state programs of assistance will be aimed at developing and enlarging agricultural cooperatives in Armenia, Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan stated at today's' meeting with the representatives of milk processing enterprises, the press- service of the Ministry reports. He noted that under the Community Agricultural Resource Management and Competitiveness program (CARMAC) around 150 cooperatives have already been established in Armenia and the processing enterprises were invited to cooperate with them by singing relative agreements.
"Development of agricultural sector is impossible without processing industry. But there are a number of problems related especially to purveyance of products, which should be solved", the Minister stated emphasizing the importance of the proper organization of the process of purveyance and setting the minimal reasonable price, which should be beneficial for both purchaser and supplier. Related to the problem of fulfilling the obligations to the farmer enterprises on purveyance of milk products, Karapetyan called for to ensure payment for the supplied products as soon as possible.
At the same time the Minister emphasized the importance of diversification of raw products taking into account their possible demand on the Eurasian market.
