ArmInfo. Rostelecom has announced the start of "Technologies for Life - Internet at the Speed of Light" an annual competition for those journalists who cover IT field. As the press-service of the company informs, the main prize for the winner will be a trip to ZTE's headquarters in Shenzhen, China in fall 2016.
The applications for participation are accepted from the Armenian journalists on the official website of the contest - www.smi.rt.ru . The deadline for applications is April 10, 2016. According to the source, members of the Armenian jury are representatives of professional society: Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, Director of Enterprise Incubator Foundation; Executive Director of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises of Armenia; Head of Public Relations Unit of "Rostelecom" Armenia.
The competition is held to get the attention of Media and bloggers on objective and better coverage of innovative technologies and services and their applications in different spheres of society. Approximately 500 representatives of mass media from Russia and Armenia annually take part in the competition. The winners receive the opportunity to visit such large technological companies as Ericsson (Stockholm, Sweden), Huawei (Shenzhen China), ZTE (Shenzhen, China).
The contest is held among all representatives of media that illustrate the scope of IT: print media (newspapers, magazines); radio and television; online media (including news Agencies); social media (bloggers).
In May 2015 Haykuhi Asatrayn, who had covered the results of IT year in Armenia, was announced the winner form Armenia.
The competition is being held for the 5th time in Russia. With Armenian journalists' participation the competition gained international status. The competition has been held in Armenia since December 2014.
