ArmInfo. Areximbank-GPB Group has summed up the results of "8 gifts by March 8" campaign conducted jointly with MasterCard. The press office of the Bank has told ArmInfo that prizes were raffled off among the female cardholders whose shopping made with cards from March 9 till May 5 totaled the biggest sums.
Alexander Hakobyan, Head of the Advertising and Marketing Department at Areximbank, said that this is not the first joint campaign with MasterCard. He stressed that the key goal of the event is to popularize the noncash payments in Armenia. "The most active 400 female cardholders also received USB Flash Drives with the Bank's logo and a MasterCard, and 10 of them were awarded certificates with the right to enable the Cash Back service in the amount of 8.7% of the spent sum," he said.
The source says that all women and girls, who acquired MasterCard Standard or/and MasterCard Gold cards at Areximbank-GPB Group from March 9 till April 7, received a set of 8 gifts, which included a free international MasterCard Standard plastic card without a trigger
balance (for a period of 1 year), a MasterCard Gold card with a 75% discount without a trigger balance (for a period of 1 year), 8.7% p.a. interest added to the positive balance on the card account in terms of AMD, a 50% discount for safety deposit boxes (75x310x435) for a 1-year rent at the head office of the Bank, an opportunity to view banking operations free of charge when enabling the Mobile Banking services, an opportunity to view banking operations free of charge when enabling the Internet Banking services, and a 3%-20% discount at seven service points.
According to the Analytical Review "Armenian Banks in Card Business" by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo), Areximbank-GPB Group is among the top ten banks in terms of active Visa and MasterCards - over 32 thsd cards as of 1 October 2015. The
amount of the transactions with the Bank's plastic cards grew by 25.5% over year. The Bank holds the 9th position in terms of its own POS- terminals (304 POS-terminals), and the 10th position in terms of ATMs (81 ATMs). Along with international Visa and MasterCards, the Bank issues and serves local ArCa cards (almost 2-fold decline over three years). Areximbank-GPB Group was the first in Armenia to become a principle member of Visa in 2002 and MasterCard in 2005. Since 2009, the Bank has been a member of ArCa payment system and it is licensed to issue and serve ArCa cards, but it started issuing local cards in Q4 2012.
To recall, the sole owner of the Areximbank-GPB Group CJSC (formerly Areximbank) founded in 1998 is Gazprombank (Russia), which is among the top three banks of Russia.
