ArmInfo. A strategic development program proposing establishment of an investment fund has been drawn up in Syunik region, Syunik region's governor Vahe Hakobyan informed at the meeting with Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan, who visited Goris on his way to Nagorno-Karabakh.
Hakobyan informed that creation of the Investment Fund for Syunik Development is aimed at boosting investment programs in various fields and opening new job places. According to him emergency response units will be established in 5 regions of the region providing new jobs. At the same time, work is being held on launching two plants for producing pipes and processing of rubber. Within the "I was born in Syunik" program assistance will be provided to people from Syunik living abroad, who wish to launch business in their homeland.
"We should strongly realize the tasks we face, understand how to minimize the expenses and whether we can solve these tasks at the expense of additional assets. We need to decide which part of expenses can be covered by the administration and which can be ensured via state budget. This is the only way to reach progress", Karapetyan stated.
During the meeting the sides also discussed issues related to education, agriculture, healthcare, road construction, gas supply, water supply and development of other infrastructures in Syunik region.
