"Air France KLM" celebrates 10th anniversary in Armenia planning to carry out daily flights

ArmInfo. For all those who plan  to celebrate the New Year holidays using services of Air France KLM,  the company has reduced prices of tickets in wintertime by 20- 25%  compared to the same period of last year, representatives of the  company in Armenia told journalists on November 17. The French  Embassy in Armenia has celebrated the 10th anniversary of Air France  in Armenia holding an event of French Beaujolais Nouveau wine  testing.  

"Back in 1970ies we were organizing tourist visits to Soviet  Armenia", the Head of "Executive Travel", General sales agent of "Air  France KLM" Levon Baghdasaryan remembers. "In the end of 1980ies  Yerevan was on the edge of complete air isolation and we decided to  organize Paris-Yerevan direct charter flights. In 2003 Executive  Travel was established and active negotiations were launched with Air  France to open direct regular flights to Yerevan", he noted. 

"The French company carried out its debut Paris-Yerevan flight on  April 8, 2006. Political and public figures as well as famous  chansonnier Charles Aznavour were among the first passengers. At  first 3 flights a week were carried out in summer and 2 flights in  winter seasons.  The flight frequency was increased over time and  today the number of flights is 4 and 3 respectively", Baghdasaryan  said. Within 10 years the airline company has transported more than  500.000 passengers. At the same time Baghdasaryan informed that it is  planned to further increase the number of flights to Yerevan to 5 and  4 flights respectively. "In 2-3 years the company intends to carry  out daily flights to Armenia", the representative of the company  mentioned. 

According to the Country Manager for Ukraine, Armenia, Belarus and  Georgia at Air France KLM Frank van 't Hof although the company is  one of the world leaders on world market it does not remain satisfied  with the reached achievements.  The company makes regular investments  in modernization of aircraft fleet, increases qualification of the  staff and the quality of provided services.  

To note, the world aviation leader Air France was founded in 1993. In  2004 Air France KLM group was formed. The leading group in terms of  intercontinental traffic on departure from Europe, Air France-KLM  operates up to 2,200 daily flights enabling its customers to travel  to 320 destinations in 114 countries.
