ArmInfo. In Jan-Oct 2016, metallurgy output in Armenia experienced 6.2% year-over-year drop versus 5.5% growth in Jan-Oct 2015. The ferromolybdenum output in Armenia rose by 11.4% to 5262 tons. The National Statistical Service of Armenia reports that in October alone the ferromolybdenum output made up 648 tons (9.7% less than in Sept 2016).
In Jan-Oct 2016, the output of molybdenum concentrate grew by 1.1% to 8885 tons (down 1.1% to 915 tons in Oct 2016); blister copper output rose by 13.7% to 9104 tons in Jan-Oct 2016 (up 21.4% to 1257 tons in Oct 2016); copper concentrate output grew by 30% to 326.2 thsd tons in Jan-Oct 2016 (down 7.3% to 32.9 thsd tons in Oct 2016).
The aluminum foil output in Armenia fell by 3.7% to 23845 tons in Jan-Oct 2016 versus Jan-Oct 2015 (down 22.9% to 1702 tons in Oct 2016); the output of steel pipes fell by 29.4% to 6270 tons (down 18% to 869 tons in Oct 2016); zinc concentrate output declined by 29.8% to 6767 tons (up 33.4% to 620 tons in Oct 2016).
All metals manufactured in Armenia are exported mostly to Europe and the United States.
To note, in 2015 the metallurgy sector of Armenia reduced its output by 15%. Particularly, the output of ferromolybdenum dropped by 14.6%, molybdenum concentrate - by 11.6%, rolled aluminum - by 45.7%, zinc concentrate - by 23%. At the same time, the output of blister copper increased by 18.2%, copper concentrate - by 64.1%, aluminum foil - by 1.4%, and steel pipes - by 6.7%.
