ArmInfo. Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies of Armenia Vahan Martirosyan received member of Governing Board of EBRD, representing the Netherlands, Armenia, Macedonia, Mongolia and China Frans Weekers, the press service of the Ministry informs.
Martirosyan mentioned the importance of cooperation with EBRD and expressed hope that it will be consistent both in the field of road construction and IT and communications fields. The sides discussed one of the current projects of cooperation between Armenia and EBRD related to construction of a new bridge on the territory of Sadakhlo-Bagratashen checkpoint on the border of Georgia and Armenia over Debet river within Armenia's Northern Corridor Modernization Project.
Vahan Martirosyan also presented the Ministry's priorities and the projects possible for cooperation with the EBRD. The matter particularly concerns construction of the southern part of the North-South road corridor. It is expected that EBRD will act as mediator in state-private cooperation. During the meeting the prospect of creating regional "Data Center" in Armenia was discussed. The Minister expressed hope that EBRD will make its contribution in implementation of a program on improving and developing inter-city transport network. Frans Weekers proposed to hold discussions over any project with the representatives of EBRD responsible for the field for reaching more deep understanding of ways for possible cooperation.
