ArmInfo. David Lokyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration received Iranian Delegation, headed by Mohsen Khadem Arab-Baghi, the Director of Aras free ceconomic zone. According to the information of the Ministry pres office, the meting was admitted also by Seyed Kazem Sajjadi, the Ambassador or Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia.
Welcoming the guest David Lokyan accentuated the importance of Armenian-Iranian relations improvement, mentioning in this context the initiative of Amenian Government in respect to establishment of free economic zone at Armenian-Iranian Border. According to the Minister, the establishment of FEZ could give a serious new pulse to the development of trade and industrial relations between two countries.
"There are already existing free economic zones in our country, but Iranian experience could be an acceptable example for us. We also provide Iran with the best tool to export Iranian goods to the market of EEU," David Lokyan mentioned.
David Lokyan referred also to the idea of FEZ between two countries and accentuated the importance of friendly relations between Armenia and Iran for this Issue.
To mention, the cost of the Armenia-Iran Free Economic Zone Project is estimated at USD 28 mln, and idering operations expenses the total cost is expected to form about USD 32 mln. It is expected that in 10 years the profit of establishing company will form approximately USD 52 mln, and the number of the FEZ establishing company employees is 60-70 persons. According to forecasts, in 10 years about 120 companies will be involved, with total export volume estimated at USD 80-100 mln.
