ArmInfo. The key role in improving the business environment belongs to the State Revenue Committee, Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said during the discussion of the Armenian State Revenue Committee's progress report for 2016 and the priorities for 2017.
As the press office of the Armenian Government has told ArmInfo, Head of the Committee Vardan Harutyunyan told Karen Karapetyan that the modernized Bagratashen and Gogavan checkpoints were launched on the Armenian-Georgian state border in 2016. Bavra checkpoint is still being modernized. To improve the tax administration, measures were taken to optimize the system. In 2016 the tax inspections decreased by 10,000 as compared with 2015.
Harutyunyan noted that the Committee's priorities for 2017 are to revise the risk criteria for inspection of taxpayers and automate the reception of data about tax violations from the third persons. The Prime Minister, in turn, said: "The key role in improving the business environment belongs to you. The first task is to show good attitude to the business working transparently; the second task is to regulate the relations with the bad taxpayers". "I have great expectations from your work. Who fails to accept our rules of the game must constantly feel your presence," the Prime Minister said.
