ArmInfo. On March 7, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council started a meeting in Bishkek. The Armenian Government's delegation headed by Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan took part in the talks that covered the further integration perspectives of the EEU.
The press office of the Armenian Government reports that the EEU Member states' prime ministers discussed the integration potential in various sectors of economy, the joint forecasts about development of the agrarian sector, as well as development of exports to the third countries.
The interlocutors pointed out the importance of holding trade negotiations between the EEU and the third countries. In this context, the Armenian side has reaffirmed its willingness to actively promote the EEU- Iran talks.
According to the Armenian Prime Minister, the first meeting of the EEU Intergovernmental Council was held in constructive atmosphere. "I think this is an efficient platform that allows settling the problems in the EEU. I am more than confident that we do not fully use the EEU potential. Armenia intends to exert consistent steps to that end," he said. The next meeting of the EEU Intergovernmental Council will be held in Kazan, Russia, on 26 May 2017.
