ArmInfo. More than seven thousand citizens of the Russian Federation visited Armenia after receiving on February 23 this year, the right to visit the country by internal passports. On May 3, Sergey Avetisyan, the head of the General Department of Civil Aviation (GDCA) of Armenia, reported this to journalists.
"Starting from February 23, 7066 Russian citizens visited Armenia by internal passports, in particular, the airport "Zvartnots" received 6748 people, and the Gyumri "Shirak" - 318. This indicator indicates that the decision was quite appropriate and quite in demand. The dynamics here will also be positive, and the influx of Russian tourists to our country in the future will also grow, which contributes to the development of tourism in the country," he said.
"This year, more than 8000 Iranian citizens visited Armenia within 2.5 weeks, about 80 flights were carried out in this direction," the head of the GDCA said.
