ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan thinks that Armenian light industries should receive preliminary benefits, he stated during Government session on June 8.
Particularly, according to him, to develop textile, sewing, leather and shoe industry and carpet industry it is necessary to provide effective state assistance. "The Government should seriously support enterprises that have a serious potential for the development of the whole sphere and the creation of new jobs," Prime Minister said.
At that, Karen Karapetyan instructed Finance Ministry Head, Economy Development and Investments Minister, as well as State Revenue Committee of the country to present Government suggestions on giving preliminary benefits to the enterprises in two weeks, working in Yerevan and out of it.
According to the statistics data, in Q1 2017 the volume of industrial output grew by 16.1%. Earlier, on April 8, during the meeting with Karen Karapetyan, Prime Minister of the country, Minister of Economic Development and Investments Suren Karayan said that about 7.5 thousand jobs are planned to be created in Armenia in 2017 due to investments of $ 460 million. "Only according to the approved programs it is planned to create 7,500 jobs due to investments for a total amount of $ 460 million," Karayan said. He said that since the beginning of the year a list of investment attraction programs has been drawn up, indicating organizations and financial sources. "62 investment programs are already ready, according to the results of the first quarter, 1800 jobs have already been created, and investments of $ 65 million have been made," Karayan said. "If this year you work well and hard , you can create at least 10 thousand jobs in addition to these 7.5 thousand and 460 million dollars," Prime Minister said.
